Sharing Celtic Traditions
Approaching Litha – the summer solstice and the joy associated with encountering the longest day … there is much to celebrate … especially in Celtic style!
As part of this popular S.T.A.R. service, we will consider Celtic spirituality and wisdom found in the beauty of prayers and rituals; music and poetry; love and respect of the earth; the thin line between the sacred and the secular as well as the virtue of hospitality.
Like the great spiritual traditions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Christianity and Judaism, the Celts related their understanding of God and the destiny of humankind, through the stories of their founders, heroes, elders, and saints. We will meet some of these Celts and learn about their contributions and influence on Celtic spirituality.
These ways of the past are practical for the present and empower us to create a better, happier, and more balanced future. And, if we’re fortunate enough … we might even catch a glimpse of a fairy or two!
