Creativity as Sacred Sight
Do we really notice how abundant God’s creative energy is in our lives and in the world around us?
What do we experience… When we see the brilliance of a glorious sunrise or blazing sunset… When we stop for a mama deer being followed by her little fawn… When we stand in the sand at the shoreline of roaring ocean… When we hear a chorus of birds singing?
These experiences are some of the ways God talks with us. God’s words telling us the continual story of creation, how we are part of God’s ongoing creative effort, and how we fit into the story. When we are touched by the majesty of a sunrise or sunset, by the gentleness of a mother deer and her little one, by the infinite vastness of an ocean, or the melodious cacophony of the smallest creatures, we are invited to a mysterious thin place – where the truth between human and divine energy merges.
During our service, we will discover more about sacred sight and the thin place where the truth between human and divine energy merges. How these intersections can capture our imagination, yet diminish our existence as we become very small, while at the same time gaining connection and becoming larger than we could have imagined.
