Just after the Thanksgiving Holiday and right before Advent, experiencing a Service of Silence seems eventful! A time for letting go is how we are led to a God experience – decreasing rather than increasing. Mystic, Meister Eckhart stresses, “God is not found in the soul by adding anything, but by a process of subtraction.”

Our service will offer time to ponder, contemplate, meditate or just be. What will we find? Where might we go? Whose voice could we hear? By stripping away the noise and luxuriating in the sound of silence, we are making room for the Divine to meet us at the very center of our being.
