Invites Applications and Nominations for Minister of Ritual and Celebration

Due to a retirement, the position of part-time minister of Ritual and Celebration for S.T.A.R. will be vacant July 1, 2024. S.T.A.R. is therefore inviting applications and nominations for it at this time. This minister is the senior liturgical and administrative leader of S.T.A.R.

Sacred Traditions and Rituals is a self-supporting, interdenominational, participatory worship group that meets at Central United Methodist Church, in Spartanburg, SC, on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, at 6:00 pm.

S.T.A.R. embraces Creation Spirituality as defined by theologian Mathew Fox. It greatly values creativity and inclusivity.

Qualifications for the position are as follows:
  1. A bachelor’s or higher degree in theology, divinity, or a relevant field.
  2. Ordained minister preferred, with experience in institutional and group leadership.
  3. An affinity for Creation Spirituality, creativity, and diversity.
  4. Good interpersonal skills.
  5. Financial understanding.
  6. Energy and a willing heart
